Chess Life Online: Chess Buzz

Chess and Charity

Chessplayers often look for ways to give back to the greater community. In recent years, several Grandmasters have taken part in simuls or exhibition events to help raise funds or collect toys or call attention to worthy causes.

Sometimes, though, a charity chess event is just a good idea, close to home. The following announcement caught our eye, and we wanted to share it with you. It is being timed to coincide with the Muscular Dystrophy Association's annual awareness efforts, which include the Jerry Lewis Labor Day telethon.
