Eugene Perelshteyn

US Junior Champion Eugene Perelshteyn 20 year old Eugene Perelshteyn of Swampscott, Massachusetts is the reigning U.S. Junior Champion. He has also won the 1996 Massachusetts State Championship and the 1997 New England Championship. He is currently attending the University of Maryland, Baltimore County on a chess scholarship. He is the captain of the UMBC chess team, which has won the Pan-American Intercollegiate Chess Championship in three of the past four years. He has represented the United States at many World Yough and World Junior Championships. He earned his third and final IM norm while representing the United States at the 1999 World Junior Championship, and he eagerly awaits confirmation of his international Master title.
