X3D supports the Trusts mission and goals of providing chess education
for America!
The U.S. Chess Trust is the 5013 charitable arm of the United States Chess Federation. Created in 1967 the Trust was organized to promote, stimulate and encourage the study and play of the game of chess as a means of intellectual development.
Chess is a wonderful game that can help children:
Develop mental disciplines
Develop analytical skills
Develop strategic thinking skills
Do better in school
Kids will spend time on chess because its a game and the education comes packaged as fun.
Research performed by various independent and academic groups consistently concludes that chess is a proven tool for developing these skills. A list of these studies can be viewed at www.uschess.org.
Its arm extends to every state in the nation providing educational tools to those of all ages. The trust provides:
free chess equipment to schools, hospitals and clubs
Full or partial chess scholarships
Free memberships to needy children
Training materials for teachers and coaches
Without donations we dont exist. Thanks to the generosity of X3D, young people (especially the economically disadvantaged) will have the opportunity to play chess.
