Thirteen Children Represented the US in the 2003 World Youth Chess Championship
FM Aaron Pixton and FM Joshua Friedel Achieved FIDE Title Norms

The 2003 World Youth Chess Championship, an 11 round event, held in Kallithea of Halkidiki, Greece has concluded. A listing of the 2003 World Youth Chess Champions can be found at http://www.sportmeeting.gr Official website of the 2003 World Youth Chess Championship

We are proud to announce that FIDE Master Aaron Pixton and FIDE Master Joshua Friedel achieved FIDE Title Norms from competing in the Boys 18 division. Aaron who holds an international rating of 2445 scored 7 � points and Joshua who holds an international rating of 2328 scored 6 � points.

Congratulations are also in order for all who represented the United States:

  • Boys 18: FM Aaron Pixton, 8 points;
  • Girls 14: Katharine Pelletier, 7 � points;
  • Boys 18: FM Joshua Friedel, 7 points;
  • Boys 14: FM Teddy Coleman, 7 points;
  • Boys 14: Alex Lenderman, 7 points;
  • Boys 10: Parker Bi Guang Zhao, 7 points;
  • Boys 16: FM Lev Milman, 7 points;
  • Girls 12: WFM Alisa Melekhina, 6 � points;
  • Boys 12: FM Fabiano Caruana, 6 � points;
  • Boys 12: Robert Hess, 6 � points;
  • Boys 12: Evan D Ju, 6 points;
  • Girls 12: Medina Parrilla, 6 points;
  • Girls 10: Jordana Cathryn Williams, 5 points.
