The games of the World Youth Championships 2003 continued with the 2nd round and although it�s still the beginning, the fighting spirit has become clearly obvious in all age groups.

There�s endless movement in the Athos Palace and Pallini Beach Hotels, not only during the games but also during leisure time, as the crowds of young chess players from all over the world enjoy the autumn landscape and the warm hospitality of Halkidiki.

The 2nd round didn�t come up with any surprises, mostly in the age groups of 18 and 16. Mamedyarov, Kurnosov, Smeets, Koneru, and Dzagnidze beat their opponents, except for the Finnish GM Nyback who drew with the Polish Pakleza.
