White intends to meet 8. ... Be6 with 9. exf6! (Not a queen move when 9. ... Nd5 is good for Black.) 9. ... Bxc4 10. fxg7 Kxg7 (Even worse is 10. ... Bxf1 11. gxf8=Q+ Qxf8 12. Rxf1 when White gets a rook and two pieces for his queen and pawn.) 11. Bxc4 when White's three minor pieces are better than Black's queen and pawn.
