Kamsky lost this game because he failed to recognize that he had lost the initiative. As result, he was unwilling to play for the draw by simplifying when the position warranted it. Apparently his sense of danger was absent today. This is a common mistake which rarely occurs at this level, but is often encountered at lower levels of play.
