Grandmaster Bisguier's Commentary

This is the most natural and common move here. White occupies the center in classical fashion with his pawns. Karpov tried 4. g3 against Kamsky at Moscow in 1992. That game continued with 4. ... c6 5. Bg2 d5 which transposed into a Gruenfeld and White won in 30 moves.
