Grandmaster Bisguier's Commentary

Gata continues to develop his pieces. He doesn't mind the isolated pawn, because it will give him an active game (at the cost of a slightly weakened pawn structure). He's behind in the match, and needs games that are suited to his style.

Notice the similarity of the pawn structures in today's game and also in Game Two (a Caro-Kann Defense, Panov-Botvinnik Attack). These types of positions can also arise from the Semi-Tarrasch Defense in the Queen's Gambit Declined, and the Queen's Gambit Accepted.
