Grandmaster Bisguier's Commentary

Black's last move contains a sneaky gambit: if 11. cxb5 axb5 12. Qxb5 Qxb5 13. Nxb5 Ba6 (pinning the knight against the Rf1) 14. a4 Rab8 and Black regains his pawn and leaves White with a weak pawn on b3.

And if 12. Nxb5 Ba6 (still that nasty pin!) 13. a4 Rab8 and Black will regain his pawn with the better game (if 14. Bc3 then 14. ... Bxb5!).

Karpov will not be provoked, however! (0:32)
