White's knight looks nice on f5, but it really wasn't participating in the critical parts of the game. Karpov plans the repositioning Ng3-f1-h2-f3, placing the knight in contact with the g5-pawn AND the h4-square. White has to take care here to hold the balance...he should have played for h3-h4 much earlier (perhaps with 42. Be1, or 44. Bf2). |
