Karpov sealed his move here...

Adjournment thoughts:

Karpov tried to recover from his loss in Game Sixteen by making a draw today - perhaps he was a bit too eager for this result, and drifted into a slightly worse ending. He defended in a stoic manner (as is his custom), and the adjourned position is a draw. The players may make a few moves on Tuesday, but the result should not be in doubt.

For example: 60. Kd4 and if 60. ... d2 (what else?) 61. Nxd2 Kxd2 62. Kc5 and White removes the last pawn.

With a draw, Karpov moves to 10 points (and guarantees himself a spot in the overtime...). (Black's time Used: 3:00; White's Time Used 3:10)
