Wow!

Karpov doesn't make weakening moves lightly...

Note that 21. Qxh5 is out of the question, because the queen has a job (protecting the Bd4).

20. ... Bxd4 21. Rxd4 Qc7 22. Nd6 Ne6?! 23. Rxe6!? was the Kasparov-Karpov game mentioned above (with better play for White, but eventually drawn).

Karpov may have been holding 20. ... h5!? as an improvement on that game. (1:24)
