NEslide.jpgThe 2010 expansion team the New England Nor'easters won the 2010 US Chess League Championship over the Miami Sharks. The final score was 3-1. According to the US Chess League website this match was marked by "one of the most unusual events in USCL history", in which Miami's third board was unable to make it to the match due to car trouble. 

I n the other three games, IMs Sam Shankland and Robert Hungaski of New England turned in wins while the young Nicky Rosenthal of Miami won on board four.
