The U.S. will be participating in the North American Youth Championship 2009, in Mazatlan, Mexico - October 1-5. Our squad is composed of eight official representatives and three additional players.  This tournament is held annually and determines the North American Youth Champion that will participate in the 2010 Pan American Youth Championship  in Brazil.

The gold medal winner receives either the WOMAN CANDIDATE MASTER title or CANDIDATE MASTER title from FIDE.
