Alaska Pacific University Founded with the intent of introducing chess to the Last Frontier as a vehicle for student engagement, skill development, and the benefit of a community, Alaska Pacific Chess commits itself through outreach programs both on and off campus. Unity held in diversity is an additional facet that represents the Alaska Pacific University competitive collegiate team. Our organization welcomes members of all skill levels, including those seeking guidance, and casual play. We are a University Chess Club aiming to provide a playing location and opportunity for all chess players living on campus or in the surrounding area. We meet at two different nights to accommodate the serious tournament players and also the novice and casual players. It can also be for someone who just wants to learn to play.
We meet in room 206 in the Castlemen Building (Engineering I) Tuesday from 7:30 PM until 9:30 PM for casual and learning play. We also meet in the same place on Thursdays from 7:30 PM until end of games for rated Tournament play. The time controls for Thursday games vary, but are always G/ time controls. Check TLAs for details. One should be a member of US Chess member for the tournament play. Beginners, regular or occasional players, and tournament players are welcome!
The UConn Chess Club is organized to promote the game of chess at the University of Connecticut by holding regular meetings, organizing tournaments, and teaching community members about chess. We are always trying to get a team into intercollegiate and amateur tournaments. It is a future goal of ours to have a team compete in the Pan-Am games.
Meetings are open and free to the public! Tournaments usually have a small fee.
Duquesne University
The Duquesne University Chess Club was founded in 2008 and currently has over 25 members. Our mission statement is "Making the right moves on and off the chess board." Duquesne claimed its first PA State Collegiate Championship in 2013 and defended its title in 2014. Duquesne has also won the Pittsburgh Chess League three years running. We welcome all skill levels, ranging from experts to those who are just learning the game. We meet twice a week during the academic year. Other Duquesne chess events include a semi-annual Learn How To Play Chess event and simuls from national and international masters.

Florida Atlantic University (FAU)
The Chess Club is for all FAU students, staff and faculty who are interested in playing chess! We play and show others how to play speed games, long games, tournaments, and even bughouse! This club organizes chess teams that will compete in intercollegiate competitions, recruits novice chess players among the FAU students, staff and faculty, and encourages synergism with the Boca Raton Chess Club and the US Chess Federation. We also have a Reach Out program that consists of volunteers who will assist teachers in Elementary schools around Broward County for Scholastic chess for 2nd and 3rd graders under the First Move program. Hofstra University
Hofstra Chess Club (HCC) is an organization at Hofstra University, which promotes chess on campus and in the surrounding areas. We are willing to facilitate, teach the rules, tactics and strategies of chess to all Hofstra students, faculty, employees and visitors. Our goal is to seek enjoyment and competition through participation in the royal game. HCC supports chess in every community and strives for the better recognition of chess worldwide.
Hofstra Chess Club hosts regular meetings every Thursday at 8:30 in Student Center room 143 and also every Sunday at 8:30 in Student Center room 218. In our regular meetings all members and newcomers are welcome to come play chess, discuss chess and also introduce to others their own strategies and tactics. We welcome everyone wanting to learn chess! We have easy parking access and also provide access for the disabled.
Our organization participates in various tournaments and also hosts them on a regular basis. Everyone is welcome to come and participate in our tournaments. University of Memphis
The University of Memphis Chess Club is a registered student organization at the University of Memphis. The purpose of the Club is be to provide a place and opportunity for students at University of Memphis to play, enjoy, and promote chess into the university as well as the community. Active membership is open to any University of Memphis student who is in good standing with the University of Memphis, has earned a minimum 2.0 cumulative college Grade Point Average (or is a 1st semester freshman), has been approved by majority vote of the executive board of the Club, and has attended four (4) Club meetings within the past academic year. Community members are accepted by a voting process carried out by the officers of the Club. The Club meets every Tuesday from 7 to 9 p.m. in the 3rd floor of the University Center. We host various events at club meetings including US Chess rated tournaments. Anyone is welcome to visit and please bring friends!
Mississippi State
The Mississippi State Chess Club is an official student organization at Mississippi State University in Starkville, MS. The purpose of the Mississippi State Chess Club is to have fun while promoting a strong competitive spirit amongst its members, as well as providing a suitable, educational environment for learning and playing the game of chess. Meetings are held weekly on Mondays from 4:00 to 8:00 PM in the Colvard Student Union, Room 231. We hold various events; such as US Chess rated tournaments, Newbie Knights (lessons for beginners), and women-only events. All meetings are open to the public and free to attend. MIT Chess Club

Players of all strengths are welcome, and you don't need a USCF rating to come to our meetings and play a few games. We are also committed to holding occasional tournaments on campus for MIT students, as well as participating in tournaments in the Boston area.
