World Under 12 Champion Sam Sevian was awarded the IM title at the presidential board meeting in Yerevan, Armenia. He earned a fourth
norm and crossed the 2400 FIDE rating barrier at the First Saturday tournament in Budapest, Hungary in November. Here are two of Sevian's victories, a Marshall Gambit and a nice example of the power of pieces over a queen. 7124 7125 World Under 14 Champ IM Kayden Troff also played in the event and tied for 2nd with Sam, behind IM Sergei Matsenko.
