After four rounds of the 2013 US Cadet Championship, Varun Krishnan is 3-1 and in 1st place. James Black Jr. is half a point back. If they manage to maintain their lead, the championship would be determined by their head-to-head matchup in the last round. All the games have been well fought with only 7 draws our of 16 games even though they players are only seperated by 100 ratings points. An example of one of the more exciting games was Varun's fourth round game against David Hua 6891 The last three rounds are: Monday 11am, Monday 6pm, and Tuesday 10am. The winner recives a four-year scholarship to UMBC and the top three receive free entry into the Washington International. |
