David S. Mosley (1955-2012)

David Samuel Mosley, a former USCF member from St. Clair Shores, Michigan, died at home on April 22, 2012, after a three-year battle with colon cancer. He was 56. He was born Aug. 11, 1955 in Petersburg, Virginia and had lived many years in Indiana before moving to Michigan. Mr. Mosley was pastor of Centerville First Baptist Church in Indiana from 1990 to 2006. Rev. Mosley was also chess coach for the Centerville Junior-Senior High School. He competed in USCF-rated tournaments from May 2002 through September 2006. His early tournaments saw him participate in events at the Hamilton Chess Club in Ohio. He later took part in tournaments organized by the Indiana State Chess Association, among others. Burial was in Blanford Cemetery in Petersburg, Va.
