Peter Boylboll (1945-2013) Peter Boylboll, 68, of Titusville, FL, passed away in July at home after a long illness. Pete attended High School in Palm Beach graduated from the University of Florida in 1967. He worked at NASA for 27 years as an engineer. He retired in 1994. In his younger years, he was an active tournament player, reaching Class A strength back when there were not a lot of experts and master around. His illness forced him out of competitive chess, but he continued to enjoy analyzing games until the end of his life. His wife Patty said that during his working years, he loved to buy clothes, but after he retired, he turned to collecting chess sets and books. At one point, his collection of chess sets numbered around 200. A few years ago, he donated a some sets from his collection to the Space Coast Chess Foundation. These were sold to raise funds for the local scholastics program. Pete did not want any public recognition of his generous contribution. In addition to his wife Patricia, Pete is survived by his sister, Dorothy Lawrence of Houston, Texas; his step-son, Richard Nixon; his daughter-in-law Denene Nixon; and his three grandchildren, Matthew, Alexandra and Tori Nixon, all from Titusville. Ahead of chess, Pete's love for his family and his relationships with his grandchildren were the joy of his life. Obituary submitted by Peter Dyson. Peter Boylboll may you rest in peace. |
