Chess, Fun & Florida Sun! ( The main event offers individual and team championships for each grade level (Kindergarten – College) with participants competing for national titles and trophies. Players each get 90 minutes on their clock (G/90) for each of their seven games! In addition to the main event, the Blitz and Bughouse Championships will be held on Thursday. These events allow each player/team five minutes on their clock to complete the game! Blitz offers individual competition while Bughouse offers teams of two. The opening ceremony will take place Friday, December 8 at 12:30pm. Grandmaster Susan Polgar will have a chess exhibition on Friday at 9am. A Parents & Friends Tournament will take place Saturday. USCF Scholastic Director Jerry Nash and Mike Nietman, Scholastic Council Chair will provide special lectures for Parents, Coaches and Players on Friday 9-10:30 am and 11-12:30pm. Chess for Less is sponsoring the presence of FIDE Master Alan Norris who will be available on Friday in the bookstore to give free game analysis and advice. MyChessPhotos.com will be onsite to take photos and they also will provide a $250 scholarship to the player with the greatest upset! Also, Trophies Plus, proud sponsor of the 2007 Trophies Plus All America Team will introduce the team members for 2007! Parents, Coaches and Teachers will also have an opportunity to obtain chess scholarship information from USCF College Chess Committee Chairman, Jim Stallings! 1450 young chess competitors, representing 38 states, have already entered.
