New York City Mayor's Cup Set for May 2 at PS 11 in Manhattan |

Four hundred of New York City's top-ranked scholastic chess players in grades K-12 will
compete for the title of "Best in the City" in the 13th annual NYC Mayor's Cup
Chess Championships. The tournament will take place on Saturday, May 2 from 10am-4pm at PS 11-The William T. Harris School at 321
W. 20th St. in Manhattan. The final round will take place at 2:15pm. The 2015 National Junior High School Chess Champions from IS318 (Brooklyn) and three top 10 finishers of the 2015 National High School Chess Championships, Edward R. Murrow HS (Brooklyn), Stuyvesant HS (Manhattan) and NEST+M (Manhattan) are participating at this year's Mayor's Cup event. The NYC Mayor's Cup Chess Championships, produced by NYC & Company in partnership with Chess-in-the-Schools, is an officially sanctioned US Chess Federation (USCF) event. The 2014-15 NYC Mayor's Cup season encompasses 10 sporting events throughout the year and is produced by NYC & Company, the City's marketing, tourism and partnership organization. The series showcases student athletes of all ages from across the five boroughs as they compete to prove they are New York City's best at baseball, basketball, chess, cricket, cross country, lacrosse, soccer, softball, track & field and wrestling.
