Players and Coaches Prepare for 2007 World Youth |

Official Press Release PR #31 of 2007 Contact: Jerry Nash 931-787-1234 ext# 145 [email protected] Seventy-three players, coaches, and family members are making their final preparations for the 2007 World Youth Chess Championship scheduled for November 17-29 in Antalya, Turkey. The venue for the tournament is the Limra Hotel in Antalya. Additional tournament information from the organizers can be found at http://wycc2007.tsf.org.tr/.
One challenge for the players and coaches is the adjustment to a new time zone and the jet lag which follows the lengthy trip to Turkey. In addition, the World Youth is one of the premier events for this level and the competition is intense throughout the 11-round tournament. The Opening Ceremonies are slated for November 17th with the first round to being the following day. A free day on the 23rd provides the players with a small rest before continuing the grueling schedule which ends with the Closing Ceremonies on the 28th.
