“UT Dallas has attractive programs for bright students in
many fields, such as math, science, and engineering. We believe that these top
chess scholastic players will find our academics and chess program at UT Dallas
to be a good fit,” said Chess Program Director Jim Stallings.
“We are excited about the University’s support of the
SuperNationals,” stated Jerry Nash, Scholastic Director for the USCF. “UT
Dallas has long supported scholastic chess and our national events. The University’s
excellent academic reputation along with their standard-setting chess program
provides another reminder to parents and educators of the value of chess to
impact academic success.” The strength of UT Dallas’ chess team is evidenced in
their consistent presence in the Collegiate Final Four Chess Championships for the last nine years.
The USCF promotes the development of scholastic chess
programs and sponsors national competitions.
Every four years the three spring national championships – elementary,
junior high and high school – are hosted in one location. This year the SuperNationals will be held
