Life Member Jerry Simon of New York City, died May 25, 2006, after a long illness. He was 63 years old. Jerry, a long time supporter of New York State Chess Association events, was also a familiar figure at most major events, dating back to the late 1960s. He won the prestigious Marshall Chess Club Championship in 1983, and the U.S. Senior Championship in 2001.
