2. ... c5!? (the Benoni Defense) is the brainchild of two 19th century masters (Ben and Oni). Black offers to accept the following imbalance: a queenside majority for him versus a space advantage and mobile center for White.

Karpov and Kamsky have never contested a Benoni Defense before.
