GM Magesh Panchanathan took clear first at the Philadelphia Open with 7/9. In a surprising last round twist, Magesh's fought his way to a win against GM Tamaz Gelashvili. Few would have guessed he'd win this rook endgame in the position after time control. 6188 Magesh collected $5483 for the win. Half a point behind with 6.5 were GMs Varuzhan Akobian, Sergey Erenburg, Jon Ludvig Hammer, Sam Shankland, Alexander Stripunsky, Axel Bachmann & Mikiheil Kekelidze. All seven earned just over $1000.
