The 1st Girls Junior Championship is underway (July 17-21) in Manchester, New Hampshire.

Claudia Munoz currently leads 2-0.

Close behind are Apurva Virkud, Kimberly Ding & Becca Lampman with 1.5/2.

In round two, Apurva won a beautiful game demonstrating the power of a strong opposite colored bishop in the middlegame.
