The K-12 National Scholastic Championships aka Grades Nationals, kicks off Thursday night in Lake Buena Vista, Florida (conveniently close to Disneyland!) with bughouse and blitz tournaments. The main event runs from Friday, December 12 at 1 PM EST for 7 rounds, until December 14. Bookmark the tournament results page to stay up to date on pairings and standings, and watch selected games live on monroi. Advance entries are organized by section and state. Some of the top rated players in the event include Jeffrey Haskel and Abby Marshall in the 11th grade section, Alexander Heimann and Kevin Zhang in the 10th grade, Andrew Ng in 9th grade and Jarod Pamatmat and David Adelberg in the 6th grade.
