Six American Titles Approved in Sochi |

Six American titles were recently approved at the Presidential Board meeting in Sochi, Russia.
Samuel Sevian was approved as a GM conditional on his rating. Sam gained 27 rating points a the GM section of the recent tournament held at the Chess Club and Scholastic Center of Saint Louis. This boosts his rating to 2511 which now shows on the December FIDE Rating List. With his rating now at the 2500 level, his title has become official.
Also approved were Yian Liou (left) and Kesav Viswanadha as IM’s.
As for arbiters, Tracey Vibbert has been approved as an IA and Matthew Phelps and Michael Regan as FA’s.
Some of these titles do not appear yet on the members record as the application must be posted on FIDE for 60 days. Most will be shown on their record about December 10th with one last one showing on January 6th.
