US Titles Approved by FIDE Include Shankland, Holt & Yang Print E-mail

New US titles were approved at the FIDE Presidential Board meeting in Al Ain, United Arab Emirates. US Championship third place finisher and World Cup qualifier Sam Shankland earned his GM title. Darwin Yang, Conrad Holt, Keaton Kiewra (Keaton conditional on rating) all earned IM stripes while US Women's Championship runner-up Tatev Abrahamyan is now designated WGM. Finally, Tony Rich of the Saint Louis Chess Club, two-time Chess Organizer of the Year is now a FIDE arbiter. Congrats to all from the USCF.
