The first week of the U.S. Chess League finished with five decisive team results, including the first sweep in USCL history, Seattle Sluggers 4-0 vs. Tennessee Tempo. Results summary:

GM Larry Christiansen won a highly anticipated game against GM Julio Becerra to give the Boston Blitz the 3-1 win.

FM Tegshsuren Enkhbat ground down young IM Lev Milman in 90+ moves to win a close match for the Baltimore Kingfishers, 2.5-1.5.

The Seattle Sluggers came out strong, boasting GM Gregory Serper on board 1, becoming the first team to win a match 4-0 by sweeping the Tennessee Tempo

The San Francisco Mechanics defeated the Dallas Destiny 3-1 on the heels of a crushing win by IM Vinay Bhat over GM Magesh Panchanathan.
