WIM Alexey Root will be volunteering from 10 AM to 5 PM at the Denton Public Library, in honor of International Game Day @ your library. In Denton, chess will be one of many games at one branch of the three-branch library system. Read librarian Juli Gozalez's blog post on the event, which quotes Kimberly Wells, North Branch Library Manager. “Gaming is yet another example of how libraries are becoming more than just educational resources for the communities that they serve. They are also places where users of all ages are welcome to have fun together.”
Dr. Alexey Root, WIM, is the author of five books on chess in education including the Living Chess Game and People, Places, Checkmate. Root is also a frequent contributor to Chess Life Magazine and wrote a review of Walter Browne's new book in the latest issue.
