The official pairings for the Candidate Matches (Kazan, Russia May 3-27) are now set. As predicted, US Champion Gata Kamsky will face Veselin Topalov in round 1 in a rematch of their 2009 battle. See more details on fide.com and chessvibes and discussion on chessninja.

Other pairings are:

Kramnik (RUS) - Radjabov (AZE)

Aronian (ARM) - Grischuk (RUS)

Gelfand (ISR) - Mamedyarov (AZE)


The overall winner of the Candidates matches will face reigning World Champion Vishy Anand in a 2012 match. London was originally set to host this match, but withdrew their bid.
