Hikaru Nakamura topped Magnus Carlsen in the BNbank Blitz
Our US Champion Hikaru Nakamura topped Magnus Carlsen in the finals of the BNbank Blitz in Norway on November 28. The event featured a mix of invited and qualified players. The players were divided into four four-player groups with the top two of each group advancing to quarterfinals and semifinals. Nakamura went 12-0 (!!) in the preliminaries and the semfiinals (where he faced GM Peter Heine Nielsen) and then scored 3-1 against Carlsen in the final. See the games from the final below and find more coverage of the event on the official website and complete game collection on chessdom.com. Also keep your eye on Hikaru Nakamura's blog, where he will likely weigh in on the event.
