NorCal House of Chess made history in the US Amateur team playoffs by winning their third consecutive victory. In the final they defeated the Virginia Assasins from the East. The match featured exciting games, especially GM Enrico Sevillano's win on board 1:

Ted Castro, team captain and found of NorCal House of Chess, said, "Congrats to our team members: GM Enrico Sevillano, IM Ricardo de Guzman, FM Ronald Cusi, Ronit Pattanayak, & Evan Vallens. As the team captain & coach of the team, hats off to our opponents. I'm so proud of our team. Shafieen Ibrahim, Bryon Joseph Doyle & Uyanga Byambaa - you guys are part of history as well."

International Arbiter Carol Jarecki directed the event on the Internet Chess Club.
