life in the Northwest. Hikaru Nakamura, who currently resides in Seattle, plays for the U.S. Chess League team, the Seattle Sluggers, where he recaps games on his blog--check out his latest on his match against the Arizona Scorpions here. Hikaru Nakamura is also a fan of his new city's college football team, University of Washington. In the photo below, Hikaru celebrates the UW "Huskies" upset win last weekend over USC. But on to a more surprising pastime. Check out the following speed-eating video, provided by Eddie Chang. This can't help but make me think about Nakamura's upcoming book, Bullet Chess: One Minute to Mate, due out later this fall. Being a speed demon in chess can obviously extend to other areas! Nakamura placed in 4th in the competition. Nakamura is also attracting the local press's attention, and was recently interviewed for the Pacific Citizen in an aptly named article, "No Fear Chess."
